Na een succesvol eerste seizoen hebben CNC Racing en het Althea Racing team, thuisbasis voor wereldkampioen Carlos Checa, ook voor seizoen 2012 een sponsordeal gesloten. Daarbij levert CNC Racing onder andere de slipperclutch en kroonplaatkit voor zowel de WSBK machine van Carlos Checa als voor zijn teamgenoot Davide Giugliano.
Woensdag 1 februari werd het 2012 WSBK team van Althea Racing officieel aan de pers voorgesteld in het bijzijn van media en sponsors. Carlos Checa, regerend wereldkampioen WSBK, tekende nog een jaar bij en wordt dit jaar bijgestaan door een nieuwe teamgenoot; Davide Giugliano. Giugliano won afgelopen jaar de Superstock 1000 FIM Cup en is daarmee een goede kanshebber om ook in de WorldSuperBike een mooie plaats te behalen.

General Manager van Althea Reacing Genesio Bevilacqua kondigde zijn 2012 team aan:
"I'm very happy to officially present our 2012 line-up. As you know, our confirmed riders are SBK champion Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano, a rising talent. We thank all of our sponsors, and particularly Unibat, SNAI and TIM, as it is thanks to them that we are able to embark on this adventure. We start the season with high expectations, having won in both the Superbike and Superstock categories last year. We know it won't be easy as the competition is very strong but we will do our best to repeat last year's incredible performance, knowing that we can count on the experience gained by our men in the field during 2011. We hope that this experience will help us to do even better than last year."
CNC Racing, in Nederland door ons vertegenwoordigd, heeft naar aanleiding van Carlos Checa's overwinning een speciale slipperclutch uitgebracht met alle 13 WSBK circuits erop, en ontwikkelde in samenwerking met Checa een rem-schakelset en kroonplaatkit voor de 848/1098/1198, plus een nieuwe serie koppelingszuigers in verschillende diameters. Waardevolle ervaring vanaf het circuit is zo omgezet naar accessoires voor straatgebruik!
